Former India cricket all-rounder Ajit Agarkar has been appointed as the chairman of the selection committee, said by BCCI.

This position was waiting since this year february after Chetan Sharma resigned following a sting operation, and the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), headed by Ashok Malhotra has recommended Ajit Agarkar for the position after interviewing him virtually.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah issued statement, “CAC recommended the 45-year-old Ajit Agarkar as the chairman of the committee, it is based on seniority (total number of Test matches).”
The 45-years-old Ajit Agarkar’s first assignment as the chairman of the selection committee will be select the India’s T20I squad for the tour of West Indies, whcih is beginning on August 3.
