Chakabva and Maruma Cricketer of Zimbabwe got affected by COVID-19

Zimbabwe wicket keeper Regis Chakabva and batsman Timycen Maruma was tested positive for COVID-19 and two of their staffs too got affected by the spreading virus.

These both standby cricketers shared a same room for a week in a bio secure bubble at the Zimbabwe Cricket Academy House in Harare. The two staffs who take personal care of these two players also got affected by the virus. Now all the four were taking proper treatment in self-isolation.

ESPNcricinfo gave a report that, these both Zimbabwe cricketers are the players of the 25 member team of the white-ball tour of Pakistan. But the crew left 5 members and flew to Pakistan for the tournament this week.

Before flying to Islamabad the Zimbabwe main team squad took a COVID-19 test and it results negative for all players. The team stayed away from the positive players in different hotel.

After reaching the destination all the crew members will have quarantine periods and they have to undertake another test after the quarantine.

In Pakistan the Zimbabwe players will have 3 ODIs and three T20s. The One day International matches will be the part of ICC World Cup Super League and it will be held at Rawalpindi on October 30, November 1, and 3.

The T20 matches are scheduled in Lahore during the dates of November 7, 8, and 10.
