During the clash of Delhi Capitals against Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan hit a century. He becomes the first batsman in IPL history to hit two centuries continuously in a same season.

He scored his first century against Chennai Super Kings, for 58 balls he scored 101. His second century was against KXIP, he scored his century within 57 balls. He throws 12 fours and 3 sixes in his century. Delhi Capitals scores 164-5 in their 20 overs.
IPL’s official page in twitter congrats Shikhar Dhawan for becoming the first person in IPL history to score sequence centuries in a season.

The left handed batsman completes his 5000 runs in IPL and took the fourth position as a leading run scorer. First three positions was covered by RCB captain Virat Kohli (5759), Suresh Raina (5368) and MI captain Rohit Sharma (5158)
In 2019 IPL tournament RCB captain Virat Kohli made a record of fastest batsman to reach 5000 runs in IPL. He made his record while facing the Mumbai Indians fastest bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
In this season Dhawan was in the second place as a most run scoring player.
