Stuttgart Open 2023 : Elena Rybakina, 2022 Wimbledon champion suffered an lower back injury her last 16 match against Beatriz Haddad Maia at the Stuttgart Open on Thursday.

The Kazakhstani tennis player Rybakina won only one point in the opening set and she called for a medical timeout in the 2nd when she was 2-1 set.
After this match resumed, Beatriz Haddad Maia won another game before Elena decided to retire 6-1 3-1. The Brazilian Beatriz will face third seed Ons Jabeur in the quarter-finals later on this Friday.
