India’s highest rank player Prajnesh Gunneswaran defeats the Canadian player Brayden Schnur for 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. He got qualified for the second round in the 2021 Australian Open qualifiers.

Both players had a tough fight for two and half hours and the Indian top player Prajnesh won the defeat. Prajnesh need to come across such a far distance to reach the main draw because he was ranked no 128 in the World level.
The talented player entered the main draw qualifiers in the previous year. But unfortunately he was kicked out in the first round by the Japanese player Tatsuma Ito who entered the match in wild card.

After a long one year break the Indian player Kamran Kaur Thandi played her first match against Georgia’s Mariam Bolkvadze. But she was ruled out in the first round of qualifiers for 6-7(4), 6-7(4).
Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal receives the wild card for singles main draw and he will be the only Indian player to enter the main draw for the tournament. The matches will initiate from next month February 8.
