Jessica Pegula Childhood : Jessica started playing tennis at a young age and showed promise early on. She was home-schooled and spent a lot of her time practicing and playing in junior tournaments. In 2007, she won the USTA National Girls’ 16s Championships, and in 2011, she won the USTA National Girls’ 18s Championships.
Despite her success in junior tennis, Jessica initially decided to attend college and played for the University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team. She was a standout player for the Quakers, earning All-Ivy League honors and leading her team to an Ivy League championship in her freshman year. After her freshman year, Jessica decided to turn professional and has been steadily climbing up the rankings ever since. She has credited her parents for supporting her tennis career and helping her achieve her goals.
