The Indian Wicket-Keeper batsman KL Rahul got dismissed from the Border Gavaskar Trophy due to his wrist injury. During the practice session of Indian team in the nets at the MCG he hurts himself.
BCCI said in a report that, “During the practice session KL Rahul plays inside the nets at MCG, the Indian batsman injured his wrist on Saturday. He need three weeks rest for complete cure and fit for the game so he won’t take part in the rest of the two matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy”.
It also mentions that for further recovery of his injury after returning to India he have to guide the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The Indian team already lost players like Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma so the loss of KL Rahul will be great celebration for the opponent. In these previous three test matches the Indian team played without the Indian captain Virat Kohli and Ishanth Sharma also didn’t participates in the match.
From January 7, Rohit Sharma will join the team in the third test at Sydney. In Indian team Rahul was the mostly expected one to make a comeback in test matches, while Hanuma Vihari continuously hits low scores. In the last three innings Vihari scored 45 runs. Rahul’s presence will be in great doubt in the four match home test series against England from February 5.
