The 84th-minute goal of Tyrell Malacia was quickly compounded by a serious-looking injury to Lisandro Martinez. He pulled up with pain gripping in his right ankle and was eventually taken away on a stretcher from ground.
Manchester United Boss Erik ten Hag said, “I was unable to provide an current update when he faced the media on Friday lunchtime, but the club confirmed the high severity of the respective issues that evening.”
Manchester United Twitter said officially in a statement: “Lisandro Martinez has been ruled out for the rest of the season after fracturing a metatarsal bone in his foot heavily.
Raphael Varane, who is the defensive partner of Lisandro also injuried at half-time in the same game and he would be rest out for a few weeks.”
