Inside Sports Money Ball declares that Dhoni has bagged total 137 crore by playing the IPL matches. This 137 crore does not include the other cash prices like man of the match award etc.
During the initial year of IPL in 2008, Dhoni was picked for $1.5 million by the CSK. He was the player who picked for highest price in the IPL tournament that year.
He was bought for 8.2 crore during the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) increases the rate for first-choice retention to 12.5 crore in the year 2014. Thus Dhoni receives 12.5 crore for each year in 2014 and 2015 IPL.
During the two year dismissal of CSK Dhoni played for Rising Pune Supergiants. There is a change in the team but no changes in his earning. Again BCCI increased the first-choice retention amount to 15 crore before 2018. Thus Dhoni bagged total 45 crore within three years of his IPL career.
Dhoni will be mostly at the top list of BCCI’s central contract list when playing for Indian team. Rohit, the captain of Mumbai Indians team is in the second place of Inside Sports Money Ball’s IPL list. This amazing player earned over 131 crore in IPL.
The captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore Virat Kohli catches the third position in the list and he earned over 126 crore from playing IPL matches. His first three years of IPL career didn’t bring him more income that was the main reason for his third position in this list.
During the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 he remains uncapped and he was bought by RCB for 12 lakhs in the IPL.
