Osaka and Serena Will took Part in Adelaide with Djokovic and Nadal


Top women players Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams will participate with Top men players Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open warm up match at Adelaide. The Tennis Australia said in a report that, after completing their quarantine days in South Australian city the top players Osaka, Serena will took part in Adelaide with Djokovic and Nadal.

At the city’s Memorial Drive Tennis Centre the match “A Day at the Drive” will took part on January 29. After one week the Grand Slam tournament will be conducted at the Melbourne Park. Previously it was postponed due to the pandemic.

An announcement was already made by the Australian Open director Steve Tiley that in the exhibition match top players Ashleigh Barty and Simona Halep will take place. Later he confirms the availability of Dominic Thiem along with other eight players and the U.S Open champion was declared as the third men.

After the Australian Open the Adelaide has plan to conduct the WTA tour 500 level event at International level. After travelling there the players must take isolation period for two weeks and after that the match will initiate. The tennis Australia must give chance to the players to complete all these procedures.

In news report the state premier Steven Marshall said that “For South Australia both these tournaments will be really a great success”.

“This tournament will express how Australia managed to control the COVID-19 pandemic and impressing the world class events by highlighting the talents of the player”, he added.

Before the Australian Open other warm up tournaments like small ATP Cup match will be conducted on Melbourne with the contribution of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. To complete the COVID-19 health protocols for the Asia -Pacific Grand Slam, the players must undergo a compulsory isolation period. From January 15 lot of players and entourages will arrive at Australia.

During the isolation period the players will be allowed to get trained outside their hotel rooms for 5 hours each day.
