Swiss Professional tennis player Roger Federer withdraws from Tokyo Olympics because of knee injury. Lastly he played Wimbledon 2021 earlier of this month.

The 20 time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer suffered knee injury during the grass court season. So he skips this year Tokyo Olympics.
Roger Federer won the gold in doubles 2008 Beijing Games and won the silver in singles at the 2012 London Olympics.

Federer said on Twitter,
“While I played in the grass court season, unfortunately setback with my knee injury, so I decided to withdraw from Tokyo Olympic games”. “I am greatly disappointed and I wish the whole Swiss team best of luck”.
In this Tokyo Olympics is currently scheduled from 23 July to 8 August. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic the Tokyo Olympic already postponed in the year 2020.
