In the upcoming three match T20I series against South Africa and Pakistan, the South African player Heinrich Klaasen will lead the team which begins on February 11 in Lahore.
This is the first time the Right handed batsman got selected as the captain of the national team. For his country he played one test match, 17 ODIs and 13 T20Is in his career.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement that, “The strategy forms are measured and declared by the CSA and confirms that the test team was captained by Quinton de Kock. Because of the team’s three day match he will return to South Africa. He will complete the quarantine days based on the COVID-19 rules and play Betway test series against Australia”.

Graeme Smith the Director of the CSA Cricket said that, “every sporting person was in the situation of finding new ways to conduct the tournament or sports. The games will took place as planned and to revise plan as possible as little interruption. One must be in full preparation for the home test tour against Australia and also we have a mind blowing T20 series against Pakistan”.
He also says that, “In this situation we decided to allow the National Selection Panel to choose some of the young and talented players those who are waiting for a good chance of a lifetime in T20 world cup year”.
