Hockey Awards : India goal keeper PR Sreejesh and Deepika won the Dhruv Batra Player of the Year award 2016 for men and women, respectively, at Bengaluru, on Saturday.
Sreejesh said, “It is a great honour for me to be choosen as the Hockey India Dhruv Batra Player of the Year award 2016. I dedicate this award to all my coaches, my family members and my friends who have encouraged me and pushed me to give my best to hockey. And i really hope this award will encourage youngsters to play the national game hockey in right earnest”.
Sreejesh and Deepika bagged Rs. 25 lakh and a trophy each for their best achievement.
