India vs Australia: During the third test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy the Australian batsman Steve Smith scored his 27th test century against India. In the test series this was his eighth century against India.

Steve scored his first test century in 2019 Ashes there he took 201 balls to achieve the record but in that match unfortunately Australia fails to India. Previously in both tests Smith failed to cross double figures later he achieved in this innings.
Smith joined players like Ricky Ponting, Vivian Richards and Gary Sobers who scored 8 centuries against India. It was the joint-most number of centuries against the country and Smith becomes the fastest to achieve the record within 25 innings. The former Australian captain achieves it in 51 innings, The West Indies legend completes in 41 innings and Gary completes in 30 innings.
In Test series Smith become the Second fastest player in the history of cricket to score his 27th century. The players who achieve the record by low innings are given below:

In International cricket Smith hold the record as the joint-fourth highest century scorer for his country.
At the same time the other Aussie players like former captain Ricky Ponting scores 70 International centuries for his country, David Warner scores 43 centuries, Matthew Hayden 40 centuries and Mark Waugh and Steve smith in the same position of 38 centuries.
