Swiatek said, “I felt like what I needed to be 100 percent focused from the beginning to the end, to think about technique and tactics from my side“.

“I’m pretty happy that I’m not rusty and I could perform good tennis, even though I had a long break’.

Swiatek said about Qinwen Zheng, “She’s really talented, and everybody can see that in court. I needed to adjust to play, and I’m just happy that I was focused on myself, on what I wanted to do. I feel pretty comfortable. So I’m happy that I could show my good tennis“.

Swiatek already withdrew from the Miami Open and Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers because of rib injury, but she said reporters on Wednesday like “I’m not injured anymore.”

Iga Swiatek face Stuttgart 2018 winner Karolina Pliskova on Friday.
